Amenorrhea:

Amenorrhea is when you don’t get your cycles despite having completed puberty, not being pregnant, and not having gone through menopause.

It’s not for menstrual irregularities. You don’t get your period if you have amenorrhea. Although it isn’t a disease, you can tell your doctor about it because it may be a sign of a medical problem that can be treated.

Amenorrhea can be a sign of a complex set of hormonal problems. There are two forms of amenorrhea:

• Primary Amenorrhea 
  
• Secondary Amenorrhea

Primary Amenorrhea :

Primary amenorrhea refers to the absence of menstruation in someone who has not had a period by age 15. The most common causes of primary amenorrhea relate to hormone levels, although anatomical problems also can cause amenorrhea.

Secondary Amenorrhea :

Secondary amenorrhea refers to the absence of three or more periods in a row by someone who has had periods in the past. Pregnancy is the most common cause of secondary amenorrhea, although problems with hormones also can cause secondary amenorrhea.

Symptoms :

Along with the absence of cycles, you can experience other signs or symptoms, depending on the cause of amenorrhea, such as:

• Milky nipple discharge
  
• Hair loss is a common problem.
  
• Changes in vision due to headache
  
• Acne

Consult your doctor if you’ve missed at least three menstrual periods in a row, or if you’ve never had a menstrual period.
